Become a Volunteer
OMNI has many opportunities for youth and adults to get involved as volunteers. Share your knowledge and talents, including the chance to work directly with youth and families. Depending on your availability and interests, you may volunteer a few hours a year to several hours a week.

Opportunities for Youth Volunteers (age 14-18)


Peer Jury
Teens hand out sentences, including community service and apologies to victims, to first-time, non-violent juvenile offenders. You will be assigned to Peer Jury based on the location of where you live.  Volunteer Commitment: One night per month for one year.

Reality Theatre
High school students develop and present original material that is relevant to other youth; students commit to 20-25 hours a month. By audition only.

Opportunities for Adult Volunteers (age 19 and over)


Parent Aid Volunteer
Each volunteer is matched with a parent who needs support with personal or family issues.
Volunteer Commitment: three hours per week for six months

Skills for Life Mentors
Adult volunteers serve as role models and friends to youth. Each adult will work in a group setting, as well as one-on-one, on prevention and life skills. Additional responsibilities include weekly phone calls and keeping monthly logs.
Volunteer Commitment: two hours per week for one year and the position requires you to be 21 years of age or older.

Resource Center Volunteers
Resource Centers located in Mundelein, Prospect Heights and Wheeling.  Our Mundelein Resource Center is currently looking for volunteers to help with coaching soccer (T, TH), and with Summer Programming (T, W , TH).  Our Prospect Heights Resource Center is currently seeking help with their Fitness Program (M), a Dance Instructor (W) and help with Family Movie Nights.

Tutors
During the school year, one-on-one tutoring for youth who need help in a variety of subjects.
Volunteer Commitment: Minimum of one hour a week for one school year

Resource Center Aids
Help youth, in a group setting, with homework and projects, as well as assisting in computer training.

English as Second Language (ESL) Teacher
Teach other adults English at Community Resource Centers.
Volunteer Commitment: One night, two hours per week for one school year

Special Events and Fundraising Volunteers


Gala
Held annually in March, volunteers assist the night of the event with registration, silent and live auctions, and raffle ticket sales.

Golf Outing
Held annually in June, volunteers assist throughout the day at the golf course with registration and set-up, hole-in-one contests, silent auction and raffle ticket sales.

Casino Nights
Several times throughout the year in the evening, volunteers assist with running the casino games including blackjack, craps, and roulette.

Committees
Be part of the committee that plans our special events. Volunteers assist with securing item donations and sponsorships. This committee meets at least six times a year prior to the event.

*The Long Grove Heritage Race 

We are currently looking for individuals or groups to join Team OMNI for the 11th Annual Long Grove Heritage Race.  Volunteer your time to help raise funds and awareness for Philanthropic programs and services by participating as a walker or runner in this race.

Administrative Volunteers


Administrative
Adults who would like to assist OMNI staff with filing, copying, and other clerical duties. One or more times a week for at least four hours per day is preferred.
