Juvenile Justice Services

Juvenile Justice Services

Juvenile Justice Programming OMNI has differentiated itself by successfully working with service recipients that are from communities or populations that are often overlooked or underserved, such as youth who are referred to us from the local police and/or court system.  From the first offender to the serious habitual offender, at OMNI, these youth leave with life skills that help them turn their lives around. By emphasizing accountability, the reconciliation of past wrongs, community safety, and the development of emotional, social and cognitive skills, OMNI’s juvenile justice programs help youth develop the skills necessary to make better life choices.

Crisis Intervention Services: Professional staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for crisis intervention responses to adolescent related emergency situations. OMNI provides immediate response to crisis calls from police, schools, clients or families seeking immediate assistance with adolescent or family related problems. Family stabilization is the focus of this service.
Drug Testing Services: OMNI uses frequent and random alcohol and other drug screening tests. Screening tests are conducted to assess a client’s current substance use, monitor progress and provide an objective method of accountability to reflect client progress to parents and/or referral sources.
Gang Prevention/Intervention Programming: OMNI offers a gang intervention group focusing on building life skills and problem solving strategies with the goal of reducing gang affiliation and/or violent behavior.
Peer Jury Programming: OMNI’s Peer Juries puts first time, non-violent offenders before some of the toughest judges in the land: their peers. This alternative to the juvenile courts not only saves taxpayer money, but also results in a recidivism rate well below Cook and Lake County Court averages. Offenders volunteer to appear before the peer jury. They receive sentences that often include community service, apologies to victims and learning assignments.

Psychological Testing Services:
  • Psycho-diagnostic Testing
  • ADHD Diagnostic Assessment
  • Personality Assessment: A variety of test instruments available to screen for: Depression and/or Suicidality

Fees for services vary from program to program.   A sliding fee scale is available for those families who may have an inability to pay, which is based upon household income, number of dependents and relevant outstanding expenses. OMNI Youth Services understands that some families are not able to pay the full hourly rate, therefore a portion of the cost in being supported by various local, state, federal and private sources. A full breakdown of the resources can be viewed in our Annual Report.
