“My first encounter with OMNI was due to fighting in school. In high school, I got involved in gangs and drugs and came back to OMNI. I participated in Pathways, Seven Challenges, and Journey.
My favorite experience with OMNI is was my relationship with the staff. They wouldn’t tell me ‘It’s my your fault, you’re messing up, fix this and fix that.’ They helped me figure out the real problem — the issues that drove me to gang life and the things that made me angry and got me in trouble. OMNI staff helped me see life more clearly and figure out how to work with it and get what I wanted out of life.
I dropped gang banging and drugs for books. I live in the neighborhood where all my old friends live; they still try to get me back into gang life. I’m not out there claiming a block that’s not mine. I don’t do it. I work three jobs to help my parents. I got a scholarship and go to school.
My life has changed for the better. Without OMNI I wouldn’t be here right now, I would be in jail or not here at all.”

“Before OMNI I was cutting, I was suicidal. The hospital suggested I come to OMNI for help. I was being bullied and had a lot of relationship problems with my sister, mom and dad. I voluntarily came to OMNI. I am involved in GAP, REALITY, counseling and Journey.
OMNI helped me realize there were others like me who needed help and support. I made new friends who help me and support me. OMNI helped me take risks and do things I never thought I could do before. They helped me understand and build healthy relationships, and also avoid those people who tear me down.
Thank you to those individuals and companies that support OMNI, without you I wouldn’t be able to come to OMNI. Without you and OMNI I probably wouldn’t be here today.”

“I came to OMNI in middle school; it was rough, really hard on me. The school social worker suggested I come to OMNI, so I called and got myself an appointment. I participated in counseling, GAP, GSP, and Journey. Through Journey I learned to face my fears. OMNI helped me recognize, identify my fears, and recognize they are something I can work through.
